This is how we do it.
The Lone Star Veterans Association was started in 2009 with a small group of veterans who wanted to share resources, ideas, and stories. From there it has grown into the largest post 9/11 veteran network in Texas. It now has the goal to serve veterans from all eras and family members of those who have served.
Our programs fall into three primary groups.
Camaraderie Program
The Camaraderie Program is the social arm of LSVA. Every month we host a variety of events that bring veterans and families together. From social happy hours to painting classes, there is something for everyone at LSVA.
We also are constantly looking for new ways to engage members, so if you have any ideas, want to create an event, or share an event that you know about, please let us know! Spread the word here.
Career Transition
The Career Transition program aims to not just find veterans jobs, but to help them transition from their current position to a more successful path. This is not just for new veterans, fresh out of the military, but any veteran who wants to grow their career into new success. We do this through a career posting board, transition workshops, alerts about upcoming job fairs, and our very own Warrior For Life program, which are luncheons where you get to network with local companies and employers.
LifeNav
LifeNav is the area of LSVA that helps veterans through a variety of mazes and hurdles they encounter in the civilian world. From working on education plans, dealing with benefits, housing issues, and other problems, LifeNav is here to help. It is also a great place for successfully transitioned veterans to share their best advice, tips, and resources they have encountered.
